After his time in Beeck René played one year in Lich Steinstraß (Verbandsliga). After he had moved from Aachen to Mönchengladbach, he did not want to drive that far. That's why he was looking for a new club in Mönchengladbach and joined the DJK / VfL Giesenkirchen on. The season here was mixed.
