Morocco 2017 - Marrakech (Jardin Majorelle, Medina)

Thursday, March 30, 2017, Marrakech: Jardin Majorelle and Medina

In the morning we visit the Jardin Majorelle, a private garden, built in 1923 by the painter Jaques Majorelle. After his death in the beginning sixties the garden went wild. In 1980 the fashin designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé bought and restored the garden.

Leaving Jardin Majorelle we go through the Medina of Marrakech and leave it shortly before noon through the city gate Bab Agnaou, where we find our bus, that takes us to a restaurant near the soccer-arena of  Marrakech, where we have dinner.

After dinner the bus takes us to the pclace of jugglers again. From here we go through the souks to a herbal and oil store (www.rosahuile.com). Here we see the process of getting Argan oil out of fruit pits and we learn about Moroccan herbs and essences for medical or culinary purposes.
