My oldest hobbies are dogs (as a child Collie Tramp) and photography. At primary school, I started with an Agfa Isola (photo Dirk Böhling), a simple camera for roll film sizes 6x6, which at that time was about 40 DM.
In the now almost 37 years of working at the high school "Gymnasium an der Gartenstraße" I have made a lot of pictures. Photos with analog cameras to slide or negative films. Until the mid-80s it was worth it even to develop the films and the pictures to enlarge myself. For this, the school had a very well equipped laboratory. Mid 80's, the large laboratories came up and the prices for enlargements were there cheaper than the cost of self-development and enlargement. So the lab was only used to create special enlargements, especially for slides. Later, the analog cameras have been replaced by digital and the laboratory by computer and color printer. That makes things a lot easier, especially more stable. In many slides and negatives already gnawed the ravages of time, when I started to digitize them. Unfortunately, this is to look at many of the old photos, but they may have sentimental value.
